Project Description
"Moving pedestrians efficiently and safely across the Campus on a structure that is in character with its surroundings and is resilient to abuse." That was challenge by our Client to ELA. In response, ELA designed and engineered a pedestrian scale bridge, fully capable of emergency vehicle passage while maintaining the aesthetic and institutional qualities of the Campus.
Services Rendered
The pedestrian bridge design and engineering was just one of the many services ELA provided for the Campus. Other services included design of the Campus Master Plan, site/civil engineering design and plans, municipal approvals and traffic/transportation engineering.
In order to complete the pedestrian bridge in the compressed construction schedule, ELA took the lead role in coordinating all aspects of the project from extensive design meetings with the Owner and the Contractor, through the permitting process, and finally construction oversight.
