Project Description
Honey Brook Golf Club is an upscale 18-hole public golf course developed on a 165-acre former dairy farm in Chester County. The golf course is integrated with the rolling Chester County topography and the more than 35-acres of wetland areas located on the site. Improvements included renovation of the existing barn for a club house/pro shop, development of a maintenance building and compound, and a 200-space parking area. Environmental improvements included construction of storm water detention and filtration areas that are integrated with the golf course design, stream bank restoration of a tributary to the East Brandywine Creek, as well as restoration and creation of new wetland areas.
Services Rendered
ELA designed and prepared construction documents for all proposed parking areas, storm water management improvements, and public roadway access improvements. ELA represented the project through the zoning and land development approvals, including preparation of floodplain studies, storm water management studies, and land development/storm water management plans. Environmental services included Department of Environmental Protection permitting for erosion and sedimentation control, and encroachment permitting for stream bank improvements, and on-site sewage facilities. Other services included PennDOT Highway Occupancy permitting, Delaware River Basin Commission permitting and performing periodic construction observation services.
