Project Description
Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital is expanding their current facility located at 675 Good Drive. The
expansions will include ten new private patient rooms providing space for intensive inpatient physical
rehabilitation following strokes, trauma or other healthcare problems.
The existing outdoor ambulation course will be enclosed so patients can gain confidence in their
walking skills by practicing on a variety of terrains and textures year round.
A Zoning Variance was required from the East Hempfield Township Zoning Hearing Board to allow a
portion of the proposed building to encroach in to the rear yard setback. ELA Group, Inc.
successfully applied for and represented Lancaster General Health throughout the Zoning process.
The Project also required a Revised Final Land Development submission to the Lancaster County
Planning Commission, East Hempfield Township Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors,
as well as approval from the Lancaster County Conservation District, the City of Lancaster Water
Bureau, and Lancaster Area Sewer Authority.
The Design Team for the Project consists of Lancaster General Health, Richard F. Mula’ Architects,
LLC. design architect (Lancaster, PA), Benchmark Construction Company, Inc., general contractor
(Lancaster, PA) and ELA Group, Inc.
