Project Description
Women and Babies Hospital is expanding their current facility located at the Lancaster General
Health Campus situated in East Hempfield Township. The expansions include a new two story Post
-Partum addition totaling approximately 26,000 square feet. The new expansion will be visible from
Harrisburg Pike and will include an undulating native landscaped berm to provide a visual screen
from the ground floor patient rooms. Additionally the Neonatal Intensive Care and Triage Unit will be
expanded by approximately 5,200 square feet.
A new 139 space employee parking facility is also proposed to support the expanding operations of
the Women and Babies Hospital. Project cost is approximately $8 million with an anticipated
completion of Spring 2009. The Health Campus will also install a new asphalt walking path to
connect Rohrerstown Road to the intersection of Good Drive and Harrisburg Pike.
The Design Team for the Project consists of Lancaster General Health, IKM, Inc. design architect
(Pittsburgh, PA), Barton Associates, mechanical, electrical, plumbing consultants, (York, PA),
Benchmark Construction Company, Inc., general contractor (Lancaster, PA) and ELA Group, Inc.
