Project Description
"Rails-to-Trails" is the conversion of an abandoned 1.4-mile Reading Railroad line between Oak Street and Newport Road, into a linear recreation and transportation resource within Warwick Township and Lititz Borough.
Services Rendered
ELA Group, Inc. prepared feasibility study and construction drawings for the project. The feasibility study included inventory and analysis of existing conditions, natural features, utilities, bridge and structure conditions, existing and proposed trails, parks and developments and road improvements; development of potential trail corridors and trail design standards; development of trail alignment and connection options and implementation strategy. The Feasibility Study was presented to the project steering committee and public for review and approval. The construction drawings included design of trail and related amenities; rehabilitation of existing railroad bridge to accommodate trail, connections to existing and proposed development areas, right-of-way drawings and descriptions, grading and landscaping plans; entrance and seating area detailing.
