Project Description
Our client proposed the development of a subdivision with its main entrance accessing the existing
“T” intersection of West Main Street (PA Route 322) and Hackman Road.
Consequently, this project involved the design of the “fourth leg” of the intersection, known as
“Reagan Drive,” which was designed to include a northbound left-turn lane. Based on the existing
and projected traffic volumes, this project also involved the design and construction of eastbound
and westbound left-turn lanes on West Main Street as well as southbound left- and right-turn lanes
on Hackman Road. In addition to these lane improvements, the intersection was signalized to
improve its function and capacity.
As is often the case in such infill projects, the construction improvements had to pose minimal
impact on the existing homes and businesses clustered on and around the existing intersection.
