Project Description
Anticipated to be completed by Fall 2004, the Moore's Run Athletic Complex is being developed by Warwick Township on an approximate 10-acre site located adjacent to the John Bonfield Elementary School (Warwick School District). Located along Moore's Run and with access from the Lititz/Warwick Trailway (Rails to Trails Project), the facility will include two (2) soccer fields (meeting NFSHSA size requirements), a senior league baseball field (90-foot base paths), a youth league baseball field (60-foot base paths), and a multipurpose overlay field located between the infield areas of the baseball field. The project will also include a pedestrian bridge connection spanning the adjoining creek to provide access to the John Bonfield Elementary School. The Township, through cooperative private developer contribution and Township recreation funding, is developing the project. Located within a wellhead protection area and partially within the floodplain, the project provides a means to meet the increasing demand for recreational and open space resources in the Township while affording protection to these sensitive environmental features.
Services Rendered
ELA performed design services related to site planning and layout of the facilities, including preparation of layout/site plans, grading and drainage plans, construction details, erosion and sediment control planning, and approval services. Services also included construction observation services and coordination with the Township (client) during the planning and construction process.
