Project Description
The project involved the development of 131 acres for an industrial and highway commercial business center. Improvements included construction of a 20-lot subdivision with new streets, stormwater management facilities and roadway improvements including additional turn lanes, adjacent driveway modifications, and installation of traffic signals at the intersections along a .5 mile section of State Route 61 (SR 0061) which is a major arterial roadway corridor between Interstate 78 and the city of Reading.
Services Rendered
In addition to engineering services for the 131-acre property, ELA prepared Penn DOT Highway Occupancy Permit plans for the site accesses, extensive roadway improvements to Route 61 and intersection signalization. Site work engineering services included storm water management design; Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) documentation, preparation and permit coordination; preparation of soil and erosion control plans and Berks County Conservation District Permit coordination. The roadway and intersection improvements included joint coordination with Penn DOT, Ontelaunee Township, the Borough of Leesport, and adjoining property owners.
