Project Description
Location: East High School/Fugett Middle School Campus
Project Start Date: January 2003
Project Completion Date: October 2004
Construction Cost: $2.7 Million
Surfacing: Natural Turf
On a 43-acre tract adjacent to the East High School, the School District is constructed an athletic complex that includes three baseball fields, one softball field, and three multi-purpose fields (as outfield overlays) along with a 4,000 square foot field house, and associated site improvements such as parking areas, landscaping, irrigation, walkways, utility services, storm drainage, and similar improvements.
The project also included roadway widening and installation of an overhead pedestrian crossing warning flasher. Improvements also included in-ground automated irrigation for two athletic fields, amended root-zone backfill (seedbed), and sodding of all athletic field surfaces. In addition, approximately 1,500 lineal feet of segmental retaining wall construction was also incorporated to meet the topographical challenges of this moderate to steeply sloping site.
