Cheryl Love, RLA, does not seek out the limelight, but it found her as she and other “Women of Influence” were honored at the Central Penn Business Journal Awards Banquet. The awards are based on experience, integrity and leadership.
Love was chosen as a “Woman of Influence” based on her work as a Landscape Architect and Land Planner, and for her volunteer work with ACE Mentoring program.
Love, a Registered Landscape Architect (RLA), is the lone female partner at ELA Group, Inc., an Engineering and Landscape Architecture firm with three offices in Pennsylvania.
Nominated by her supervisor, Love was described as “A gifted Landscape Architect with passion and energy for making the community great, from the projects she leads to the civic causes she supports.”
Love’s commitment to the sustainability and health of the community drives her to use her skills and knowledge to ensure that her work impacts future generations in beneficial ways. She focuses on sustainable designs, responsible use of water resources, and energy efficient designs.
For the last 11 years she has volunteered as a mentor with the local chapter of the ACE Mentoring Program. The nationwide program’s goal is to mentor students and inspire them to pursue careers in design, engineering and construction. Through this program students get real-world opportunities in architecture, construction, landscape architecture and engineering. Love is particularly interested in encouraging young women to look at professions similar to hers, and other professions in the STEM fields.
