ELA Group, Inc. graciously thanks our clients for your support throughout the years as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary.
In October of 1996, ELA Group, Inc. (ELA) opened our doors to provide Engineering and Landscape Architecture solutions for our communities and clients from our corporate office in Lititz, Pennsylvania. Charles R. Haley, Jr., P.E., one of nine Principals, leads our staff from this location as our President.
In October of 2000, Matthew R. Harlow, RLA, Principal, wanting to move his family back to his homestead, opened our Central Pennsylvania office in State College, locally known as “Happy Valley”. Mr. Harlow, as our District Director: Central PA, oversees the daily operations of business and assures that our projects run smooth and within budget for our local clients.
With the growth of parks and recreational projects moving towards larger athletic facilities, ELA formed our first division ELA Sport in 2007. Providing targeted athletic field and facility design, planning and consulting to our clients, Ernest J. Graham, RLA, Principal, leads this division from our Western Pennsylvania office in Butler.
In August 2008, Land Grant Surveyors, LLC (LGS), was founded by Stephen C. Black, PLS and ELA Group, Inc. as the first subsidiary of ELA. LGS provides surveying services to architects, construction firms, developers, landowners and homeowners, in both residential and commercial projects.
In March 2010, ELA created our ELA Technologies division, led by Mr. Wayne G. Hummer, Project Manager. ELA Technologies provides fully customizable, Electronic Document Management and Business Process Management solutions to our Municipal Clients.
In June of 2019, ELA’s Director of Water/Wastewater Engineering, Jeffrey W. Sweater, P.E. moved to Sarasota FL with his family to start a new chapter in their lives and in October of 2019 to officially open ELA’s Southwest Florida Office. Mr. Sweater provides engineering services to both public and private sectors of Sarasota County.
Our strategically placed team across PA and in Sarasota, FL includes registered engineers, registered landscape architects, project managers, project engineers, and project designers, retaining wall designers, CAD technicians and administrative support staff. ELA combines the artistic side of our nature through our landscape architecture staff, and the scientific side through our engineering staff. Our differences enable us to provide the best Landscape Architectural and Engineering and consulting and construction administrative services for public and private sectors. ELA Group, Inc.’s Partners and staff meets and exceeds the diverse needs of our public and private sector clients by providing prompt, highly creative, technically competent, and fiscally sound design solutions.
